Dr. Susie Kim is excited to be living in the fun and vibrant city of Chicago. Originally a California native, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley, where she majored in public health. Her interest in public health and her involvement with global dental missions are what sparked her desire to further her education and training to pursue dentistry.
She attended the Harvard School of Dental Medicine to obtain her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. Dr. Susie had her orthodontic residency at the University of Washington, where she received both a certificate in orthodontics and a Master of Science in dentistry.
During dental school and her residency, Dr. Susie developed an interest in cleft palate and craniofacial care. After practicing orthodontics in her home state of California, she returned to Seattle for a one-year craniofacial orthodontic fellowship at Seattle Children's Hospital.
Dr. Susie has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics since 2015. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Dental Society, and American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association. She will be joining the craniofacial team at the University of Illinois Craniofacial Center, where she will provide orthodontic care in an interdisciplinary setting, and work closely with the team surgeons and healthcare providers.
In her spare time, Dr. Susie enjoys traveling, reading, hiking, zumba, and the simple things in life. Items on her bucket list include running a marathon, becoming a New York Times bestseller, and winning a Nobel Peace Prize. She realizes these are ambitious goals but she loves to dream big!
She is blessed with wonderful friends and family and is grateful for the opportunity to make Chicago an even more beautiful place, one smile at a time.
